Panel Discussion | Everyday Ecologies

Exploring the Visual Language of anothermountainman
As we approach “soul & social” — anothermountainman’s first art solo exhibition in London, we are delighted to present a panel discussion journey through the artist's practice spanning decades. Join our panel discussion on Thursday, 20 November at 5pm, followed by the cocktail reception at 6pm.

Entitled “Everyday Ecologies: Exploring the Visual Language of anothermountainman,” the discussion is led by Dr. Katie Hill, Academic and Curatorial Advisor at 3812, and Maurizio Marinelli, Professor of China and Global Prosperity at University College London and specialist in Chinese Urban Space and Ecology. The discussion will be conducted in English and live on Instagram. The artist will present.

Stanley Wong, known as anothermountainman, is a celebrated cultural icon from Hong Kong.
Wong’s practice—spanning his iconic “redwhiteblue” and “lanwei” series to more recent photographic works—offers a compelling exploration of Hong Kong’s urban fabric and cultural identity. His art transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, revealing how aesthetic and social perspectives intertwine in the making of contemporary visual ecologies.

The panel will also highlight Wong's early artistic connections to London, which were formative in shaping his creative development. After decades, Stanley comes full circle, reflecting on his multi-dimensional artistic practice on his return to the UK.
