Overview

3812 Gallery is proud to annouce "Art's Boundless Light – A Bridge from Hong Kong to Van Gogh," opening at the Van Gogh Village Museum in Nuenen, Netherland on 31 October 2026. The exhibition features the works of ten young Hong Kong-based artists from 3812 Gallery, constituting a remarkable visual dialogue with the work of Vincent van Gogh.

This exhibition is part of First Initiative Foundation (FIF)'s global art initiative and exhibition program, in cooperation with the renowned Van Gogh Sites Foundation and the Van Gogh Village Museum at Nuenen, the Netherlands. The participating artists include Curtis Chan (b. 1989), Joanne Chan (b. 1992), Alfred Cheng (b. 1988), Natalie Cheng (b. 1992), Chloe Ho (b. 1987), Kwan Yung Yee (b. 1991), Eric Lai Wai Lam (b. 1990), Gladys Ng (b. 1998), Thomas Ngan (b. 1995) and Heiyi Tam (b. 1998).

Each artist engages with Van Gogh from a personal perspective, connecting through their own distinct vision and medium—from oil on canvas and Chinese ink, to watercolour and mixed media. Some respond to the spiritual and religious resonances in his work; others draw from parallel lived experiences. Many find inspiration in his journey as an artist striving to define and express his own voice. All represent a new generation of talent connecting globally through the universal language of the arts.

First Initiative Foundation, founded in 2010 by Chairman Michelle Ong, supports and proactively creates local and global initiatives to bring meaningful connection, and is committed to bringing the best of Hong Kong to the world stage, and the best of the world to Hong Kong. This collaboration aligns with 3812 Gallery's mission to support the artistic growth of emerging artists and with a focus on cross-border and cross-cultural exchange between East and West.
