3812 Gallery is pleased to partner with Wheellock Properties and co-present "Liu Guofu: Sublime Imageries" at Mount Nicholson, an epitome of luxury living in Asia.

Co-curated by Agnes Wu, Associate Gallery Director at 3812 Gallery, and Felix Kwok, Registered Auctioneer of China and Founder of Art and Culture Exchange, this private viewing, running until 31 August, showcases 11 paintings that seamlessly blend light and air to evoke a poetic serenity within the intimate setting of Mount Nicholson, where culture and nature harmoniously converse.

These artworks trace the evolution of Liu Guofu's distinctive style over the past decade, spanning various mediums from oil pastel on paper to oil on canvas, and compositions in ink and oil on paper, unveiled at his inaugural works on paper exhibition, "Dusk Upon the Hush," held at 3812 Gallery Hong Kong in September 2024. Notably, a monumental 3.8-meter-wide Cold Mountain piece is also on display, showcasing the artist's one-of-its-kind aesthetic and the rhythmic interplay of light and shadow.

Liu Guofu was born in 1964 in Nanjing, and graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the Nanjing Institute of Arts in 1985. He currently lives and works in Nanjing. He has held various major solo exhibitions in Shanghai Art Museum (Shanghai), Today Art Museum (Beijing) and Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum (Nanjing). In 2023, the artist’s solo exhibition “Liu Guofu: Requiem" was held in Sotheby's Hong Kong Gallery, which was a huge success. His paintings were widely collected by private and institutional collectors, such as MGM Chairman’s Collection (Macau), Shanghai Art Museum (Shanghai), Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum (Nanjing) as well as private collectors around the globe.
