New Beginnings - The Behind Stories 1

In Conversation with anothermountainman

"That ever-ascending height that one strives for, where does it all come from? It’s all built upon constant sedimentation, horizons, knowledge, and ability – things that emphasise broadness and horizontality." – anothermountainman (Stanley Wong)

Inspired by Southern Song–era Suzhou numerals (花碼), the gallery’s new logo distils “3812” into minimalist horizontal strokes. Such horizontality embodies steady growth and expansion toward ever greater heights, echoing the original inspiration behind the gallery name “3812”.

Designed by Hong Kong artist anothermountainman, the aesthetic of the logo also takes inspiration from Taoist hexagrams, which symbolise all components existing in our universe and their relations – a call back to 3812’s cultural roots in a contemporary fashion.

Stay tuned for anothermountainman’s first solo exhibition in London at 3812 Gallery.
