Beyond Emptiness: Raymond Fung Solo Exhibition at SOAS Gallery

SOAS Gallery is delighted to present "Beyond Emptiness - Raymond Fung Solo Exhibition", in collaboration with 3812 Gallery London. Concurrently with Fung's solo exhibition at 3812 Gallery London - "Beyond the Horizon", both exhibitions join forces with the London Art Week, marking the artist's London coming back since 2022. 

"Beyond Emptiness" highlights a series and concept rooted in the traditional Chinese painting technique of "leaving blank (liu bai)" - the deliberate retention of unpainted space, where absence is as significant as depicted forms. It aptly reflects the tranquillity and depth of space, embracing a rhythmic sense of breathing. The exhibition encourages reflection on environmental issues, demonstrating how nature conservation integrates into architectural design and artistic creation.

A selection of Fung’s digital installations, documentary and preparatory sketches further explore the interaction between humanity and space, unravelling how architecture interacts with its surroundings and inspires Fung’s understanding of nature, later incorporated into the cultural and artistic elements of his creation.
