Art Busan 2026: Booth B-26 | Natalie Cheng and Four Hong Kong Young Artists

22 - 24 May 2026 Art Fairs
Overview
3812 Gallery is delighted to participate in Art Busan 2026, presenting a solo section titled “As I Am” by Natalie Cheng (b. 1992), alongside a group exhibition featuring four young contemporary artists from Hong Kong: Joanne Chan (b. 1992), Eric Lai Wai Lam (b. 1990), Thomas Ngan (b. 1995), and Kwan Yung Yee (b. 1991).

Natalie Cheng’s debut at Art Busan evokes stillness and energetic presence amidst the bustle of art week. Her latest work, ‘As I Am’ (2026), represents the culmination of her artistic journey and is poetically connected to her earlier signature pieces—‘I am the Oceanwide’ (2025) and ‘I am Crest upon the Wave’ (2025)—as referenced in the accompanying poem ‘I Am’ from her artist statement. Like the artist’s own declaration of “As I Am,” we, too, may experience the fluid state of becoming and being when we allow ourselves to inhabit wherever that state leads. Her works serve as a guide.

As the gallery’s artists’ first exhibition in Korea, this presentation introduces young Hong Kong voices to the international stage, reaching a broader audience in Busan, Korea’s second-largest cultural capital. Through this opportunity, we hope to amplify their voices, connect new audiences to the Hong Kong art scene, and foster meaningful cross-cultural exchange within the global art community.
