To Infinity and Beyond - The Art of Hsiao Chin | 29 July - 24 September 2023

We proudly announce the upcoming grand opening of To Infinity and Beyond: The Art of Hsiao Chin, a special exhibition of Macau International Art Biennale 2023 organised by MGM Cotai with the support of Hsiao Chin Art Foundation.

Introducing ART-TECH-TAINMENT (Art-Technology-Entertainment integrated as one) Curator Calvin Hui said 'my latest curatorial concept breaks new ground by using the high-tech black box space of Macau's MGM Cotai Theatre to create a transcendent universe that embodies the spirit of Hsiao Chin. Together with MGM teams, we make Hsiao Chin laoshi's dreams come true. I know he is with us.’

From masterpieces on canvas that were exhibited in Hsiao Chin’s international museum exhibitions around the world in recent years, to digital forms of multi-media interactive exploration, this exhibition is also one of the most important stops of the world tour of Hsiao Chin's art.

Hsiao Chin has been acclaimed as one of the most important Chinese artists in the past 60 years. Mark Peaker, Co-founder of 3812 Gallery said, ‘Regretfully we received the heartbreaking news that on 30th June Hsiao Chin passed away. Our profound sadness is shared by all who knew him and especially MGM China Holding’s Chairperson Pansy Ho who graciously agreed to establish a commemoration area at the exhibition. Here we pay tribute to Hsiao Chin laoshi for his colourful and remarkable artistic life dedicated to modernising Chinese culture and art. His legacy will live on as 3812 Gallery continues the artist's journey who, in his own words, saw death as "just the beginning”.’
